As the person having the most interaction with campers, you are a vital part of the camping ministry at Calvin Crest. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US: 1. A Volunteer Counselor Manual explaining expectations and guidelines for counseling. 2. Ministry training. 3. Daily support and encouragement. 4. Guidance and input throughout the week. 5. A planned program designed to support your ministry to your campers. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU: 1. A desire to serve. 2. A growing relationship with Jesus Christ. 3. A commitment to the ministry of a local church. 4. A willingness to put your campers' needs above your own. 5. Support for staff and program through full participation in camp activities. The ministry of Calvin Crest is designed to support and encourage the ministry of local churches. Our goal is for Volunteer Counselors, CCAs, and campers to be strengthened in their relationship with God and to learn to be a member of His body, the Church. Know that you are participating in a vital church ministry which takes place year-round, not only for just one week each summer. PLEASE NOTE the following minimum age requirements (fall of 2008) for Volunteer Counselors & CCAs: Miwok: High School Junior Junior High/Outpost: High School Senior Sherwood: High School Junior High School Camp: College Sophomore or equivalent Week in the Forest: High School Junior Family Camp CCA: 14 years old by June 1st PLEASE NOTE: Counselors/CCAs are expected to attend an orientation meeting on Sunday afternoon, the first day of the assigned week of camp. Check-in for Volunteers is from 1-2 pm. HOW TO APPLY ►Download and complete Calvin Crest Registration Form or got our Online Registration page. ►Download and complete Calvin Crest Medical Form. ►Download and complete Application Form or go to the link below to apply online ►Download, read and submit the last page of the Volunteer Counselor Manual (available on-line or from your church.) ►Download and submit Personal Reference Forms or make sure your references were filled out online. If you submitted an application "online" your references should have recieved an automated email directing them to our online reference form. Check to make sure this happend. If they did not recieve the email, download and give them a form or direct them to our online reference form page found here: ►To apply "online" click HERE ►To go to our "Reference Page" click HERE TWO PERSONAL REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED*. You should complete lines A and B and provide an addressed (to Calvin Crest), stamped envelope to the person completing the form. Completed reference forms should be sent to Calvin Crest by the person completing the form as soon as possible. This process can be expedited by providing references with stamped, addressed envelopes for their convenience in mailing the reference form. One form must be completed by your Pastor or Youth Director. The other form should be from a Christian teacher, church elder, or employer not related to you. *If you have been recruited by your Church to counsel for your Church, the Church’s recommendation and Registrar’s signature on your application are all that is needed OR if a family has asked for your CCA service for family camp, no Personal Reference Form is needed.
