QuickBooks Point of Sale and online store applications a plus but not required, will train. Retail experience preferred. Duties include operating store, managing inventory, purchasing goods, stocking, balancing books, deposits and leading seasonal staff. Compensation includes salary, benefits and paid time off.

Calvin Crest's Seasonal Staff/CommonFire program is a community. For one or two semesters, high school or college graduates, age 18 or older, are invited to work, learn, and live together at Calvin Crest. For the nine months that constitutes the bulk of Calvin Crest's activity, Central Valley sixth-graders attend our Outdoor School, and guest groups from churches and other organizations utilize our facilities weekdays and weekends. CommonFire employees serve as support staff for these groups, cooking meals and cleaning facilities. Beyond work CommonFire is a chance to grow, a chance to find faith, freedom, and discipline, and a chance to learn what it means to live in community. Participants receive room, board, and a small stipend.
The Seasonal Staff (Common Fire) opportunity is to grow in mind, body, spirit, heart and head. While you are retreating to God’s creation you are not retreating from the world. Your time on Staff is intended to prepare you to make valuable contributions to the communities where you live and work, encourage others to a closer relationship with Christ and demonstrate true servant leadership. Being in mission service means being relevant, meaningful and attractive to the world without becoming of the world. It means turning up the volume and listening to the needs of others, then being willing to actually do something to meet those needs. It means doing this for all, not just those most like you. You will receive from the Common Fire experience in direct proportion to what you invest in it.
You will be expected to work an average of 40 hours a week (some weeks more, some maybe less) under the direction and care of your supervisor and full-time staff leadership of Calvin Crest. You will be paid for your work and receive free room and board. The ministry is manifested through your service of guests and amongst you as an individual, team and community. Your work, no matter what it is, plays a vital role in the whole of what takes place here at Calvin Crest and in the kingdom of God. Our call as Christians is to be servant leaders, serving before being served, and to exercise stewardship of time, talents and treasures. We should work as if Christ is at our side. Learning to give a full day’s effort creates a sense of accomplishment, develops confidence and self-image. You are expected to take responsibility and accountability for your actions. The ability to work effectively arms you with the ability to sustain yourself and your family. Bible study, community time, peer support and life skills training help young adults learn and grow.

Guest Services (Accommodations) - Need 4 staff (1 will split time in Food Service)
Clean, prepare and maintain all lodging, meeting, dining hall and restroom facilities for guest use.
Be responsive hosts to guest groups or Calvin Crest event participants to meet their needs during events and activities.
Keep the facilities and grounds clean, trash in dumpsters and equipment properly stored.
Move equipment as needed to serve guest groups.
Maintain Guest Services equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

Clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment promptly at each mealtime.
Clean floors and equipment as directed by the Food Service Supervisor.
Help set up the dining hall for guest meals.
