After a thorough feasibility study and organizational audit, Calvin Crest is excited to be embarking on a bold campaign to address our current challenges and ensure ongoing ministry for generations to come. Here are the highlights of this campaign:

Priority One: Complete the Lakeview Lodge as a new meeting space. This new meeting space (formerly known as the Pavilion) will replace the beloved Mountain View Lounge lost to the 2021 Mono windstorm and will hold up to 200 people with large garage doors that open to the outdoor patio. It will also have a smaller meeting room for up to 50 people, a kitchenette, and accessible restrooms. 

Priority Two: Perform much-needed renovations around camp. Countless areas of camp need repair and renovation, including Westview cabins and restrooms, the pool and pool house, and parking lots. Bathrooms need updating, roofs, windows, and siding need replacing, and foundations need shoring up. Our Ranch House and Barn need significant structural work to provide safe and functional staff accommodations.

Priority Three: Reduce or retire mortgage debt. Calvin Crest carries a mortgage from building projects dating back to the 90’s. If we could reduce or retire this debt, we would save $120,000 a year ($60,000 in interest alone!) and be able to reinvest those funds into staffing, programs, or buildings and grounds. We will pay off as much debt as we can with funds raised.

Priority Four: Fund an endowment. To remain a thriving camp, perpetuate our ministry, and mitigate the cost of future repairs, we plan to launch an endowment as the beginning of a new planned giving program. For the first time, donors will be able to give estate gifts that will continue giving for decades to come!
